President's Message

Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much” ~ Helen Keller

Unity. Teamwork. These are words that come to mind as we reflect upon the quote by Hellen Keller. From the time we started 5 years ago, we have grown in spirit, bringing our ideas and energy together towards a shared goal. As we reflect upon our past achievements what stands out is our teamwork. Success of any organization depends upon its people and its teams. We are proud to say that we have a stellar team! A team that is willing to dream big and put all its energy in making those a reality. It is an honor to be leading our parent group of an esteemed school such as Diamond Bar High.

What a great year and it is coming to a close! From Principal’s address for in-coming freshmen, educational speakers to leading the food truck event to the mega Spring benefit and auction, “An Evening of Colors”, we have been working to fulfill the mission of SAPA.

We will have a fun informational session for our freshmen, “Freshmen Jumpstart,” presented by seniors of DBHS. Do keep an eye out for our end of year bash and student awards and appreciation.

Where to?

The road is beautiful ahead. We see lots of opportunities for collaborative work between our business community and our kids at DBHS. They are our future and we are just laying the foundation for them. Some future activities include leadership workshops, mock interviews, “Meet the Professionals”, “Meet the Mayor”, Fundraising 101, PSAT and SAT workshops, College consulting workshops.

It is our intention to host an annual Benefit and auction event at a grand scale in October. The theme of this upcoming event will be bringing in the spirit of our most revered festivals, Diwali & Eid.

In the end, we want to thank our event chairs and all the volunteers who put in countless hours to make each event a success. Thank you Roopa Shah, Jagu Adani, Naila Barlas, Ajita Kothari, Archana Verma, Lubna Akbany & Deepam Shah for such amazing co-ordination!  We want to extend our deep gratitude to our partners who have made “An Evening of Colors” a reality and a success.

We will continue to live out our mission and ensure that your kind contribution will also be balanced with a sense of fulfilment. We continue to encourage the community and businesses to champion our cause. Each and every drop makes the ocean. Each of these drops has a multiplier effect in the benefits and rewards that they serve. Thank you for being part of our journey and we look forward to long-term partnerships.

“The greatest thing this generation can do is to lay a few stepping stones for the next generation” ~ Charles F. Kettering
